Library catalogue
The electronic catalogue is used to find documents from the library collection. It also allows you to manage your reader's account, to request a reservation for a document that is on loan or in storage, or to renew loans. The electronic catalogue searches all MU libraries.
What do I need to know to find a book in the library?
If you are looking for a particular book, you need to look up the record for it in the library catalogue. Go to http://knihovna.muni.cz and enter the book's title. Next, find out if the book is available , which floor it is on and where on the shelf it is located.
What are the possible options in the Status field?
In house loan = the publication cannot be borrowed at home, it is only available in the library. It is marked with a red dot on the shelf.
Monthly = the publication can be borrowed for one month.
Long-term = Borrowed. Intended for MU graduate students, faculty and staff. If you are interested in this publication, please contact the librarian.
Outside the MU = publication is in a sub-library - see the Collection column.
With the registered signature it is then necessary to locate the indicated floor, on the shelves the books are arranged according to numerical subject order and then alphabetically.
What if all the copies are on loan?
If you are interested in a title that is permanently on loan, please make a reservation through your reader account in the online catalog.
You can also see if the book is on e-reserve. You would then see a scanned version of it. If it isn't, you can request a scan of it - but expect a time delay.
Another option is to suggest a book to purchase to the library.
