MU graduates are advised to obtain a graduate card (issued by the MU Rector's Office), which allows free access to MU libraries even after graduation. Then all you have to do is fill in an application form at any MU library. There is a limit of 10 borrowings, which includes access to the faculty's e-resources from a PC in the library.

Public user

Others can register for the library for a fee of CZK 300 for the first year (the fee for the chip card) and each annual renewal is then charged CZK 200. The maximum borrowing limit is 10. Access to faculty e-resources from a PC in the library is also included.

Does the registration apply to all libraries at the university?

Online registration (for students, doctoral students and staff) applies immediately to all faculty libraries at the university.

What if I interrupt studying?

If you interrupt or do not immediately start the follow-up study, the registration will become invalid. It is possible to register under the category "Public", ie. with a fee of CZK 200, or if you have at least Bc. degree from MU, get a Graduate Card. However, the maximum loan limit will be reduced from 30 to 10, and you will only be able to use electronic resources from computers in the library. After resuming your studies, you will return to the free "Student" category.

What can I do in the library without registration if I have no relationship with MU?

If you are not a student, graduate or university employee, you can:

  • use study places and the help of librarians in the main library building
  • browse books available in study rooms
  • order the book from the warehouse in person at the loan and registration desk
  • browse the catalog on dedicated computers
  • scan without logging in on special book scanners

It is not possible to use computers with an internet connection without registration. Wi-Fi is only accessible via the Eduroam network if you already have access to it.
